Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information sasayings.co.za collects, how cookies and advertising work on this site, and what your rights are under the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (POPIA). Last updated 30 July 2026.

Who we are

sasayings.co.za (“SA Sayings”) is a South African publisher of proverbs, idioms, clan names and cultural guides. For POPIA purposes the responsible party is the site owner, contactable at zybernetx@gmail.com.

Information we collect

You do not need to register or submit any personal information to read this site, and we never ask for an ID number, financial information or banking details anywhere on sasayings.co.za. The information processed is:

• Standard server logs — your IP address, browser user-agent, the page requested and the time of the request, kept for security and troubleshooting.
• Aggregate analytics — aggregated usage statistics (see below).
• The contact form — the contact page carries an optional form asking for your name, email address and message. It is delivered to us by FormSubmit, a third-party form-forwarding service that processes the submission on servers outside South Africa and emails it to us. Use the plain email address instead if you would rather not involve a third party. We keep a submission only as long as it takes to deal with it, and we never use it for marketing.
• Email you send us — if you choose to email us, we hold that message only for as long as it takes to answer you.

Cookies

This site uses cookies — small text files stored by your browser — for analytics, and our advertising partners may set their own cookies when an advert is displayed or clicked. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; the site will still work normally.

Google Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 to understand aggregate, anonymous traffic patterns — which pages are read, on what kind of device, and from which country. We do not use it to identify individuals. You can opt out with the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

Advertising & affiliate links

This site is free to read and is paid for by advertising. Adverts on sasayings.co.za are affiliate adverts served directly by us, not by an ad network, and are labelled “Advertisement”. We currently display credit adverts for Century Financial Services (Lime), delivered through the OfferForge affiliate network (of0101.com, ofaffb.co.za). Please note:

• SA Sayings is not a credit provider, credit intermediary, debt counsellor or financial services provider. We do not assess, approve or grant credit, and we give no financial advice.
• We may earn a commission if you click an advert and go on to apply. This does not change what you pay.
• When an advert is displayed, a small tracking request is sent to the affiliate network so that impressions and clicks can be counted. When you click an advert you leave this site: the network records an anonymous click identifier and passes you to the advertiser.
• Anything you enter after you leave — on the advertiser’s own website — is collected by that advertiser under their privacy policy and terms, not ours. We never see, receive or store your application details, credit record or banking information.
• All credit is subject to an affordability assessment under the National Credit Act 34 of 2005. Borrow only what you can afford to repay.

You can limit interest-based advertising generally via Google Ads Settings and youronlinechoices.com.

Sharing and cross-border transfer

We do not sell or rent personal information. Our analytics, affiliate and contact-form providers process data on their own infrastructure, which may be outside South Africa. Where that happens, POPIA section 72 requires comparable protection, and we rely on those providers’ own data-protection commitments.

Your rights under POPIA

You may ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, or object to its processing. Email zybernetx@gmail.com and we will respond within a reasonable time. If you are not satisfied you may complain to the Information Regulator (South Africa): inforegulator.org.za, POPIAComplaints@inforegulator.org.za.

Children

This site is not directed at children under 18, and the credit adverts shown here are only relevant to adults who may lawfully apply for credit.

Changes

If we add or change an advertising partner we will update this page and the date above.
